The first time I saw Levi was at his sixth birthday party. I don't recall what the kids did (though my daughter assures me there was a peanut hunt) or what the adults did. But I remember the pure joy Levi experienced as he opened his gifts. His smile said it all, but the genuine thanks he gave everyone were worth much more than the trinkets he received on that day. Levi was a gracious boy, kindhearted and sweet. Although our paths didn't cross very often in later years, I was always happy to see him. His smile never changed; it was a beacon to all who experienced it. He will be missed.
