Levi Armstrong Obituary from The Recorder, Highland County VA. http://www.therecorderonline.com/news/2011-10-20/Obituaries/Levi_Armstrong.html Levi Morgan Pierce Armstrong WESTMINSTER, Colo. — Levi Morgan Pierce Armstrong, 19, of Westminster, and formerly of McDowell, Va., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 in Vail, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born Feb. 29, 1992 in Durango, a son of Elizabeth M. and Stevie Armstrong, and his biological father, David Pierce. Levi was a 2010 graduate of Highland High School, and a member of Highland Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He had been an apprentice at Obaugh Welding and had worked for Armstrong Excavations and Timber Management. Levi loved to read and write and was always interested in movies and films. He was pursuing his passion by attending Colorado Film Institute at Aurora Community College. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and road trips and loved spending time with friends and family. Levi also had a lifelong interest in his Scottish family history. He is survived by his parents, Elizabeth and Stevie Armstrong of McDowell; four sisters, Chrystal and husband, Kris Berner of Westminster, Jennifer and Tiffany Armstrong, both of Doe Hill, Va., and Sammie Armstrong of McDowell, Va.; a brother, Cory (and Pebbles) Armstrong of Deerfield, Va.; nieces and nephew, Isabel, Mikaela and Jaden Berner and Kaylee Armstrong; maternal grandparents, Charles and Shirley Morgan of Apopka, Fla.; and paternal grandparents, Steve and Devonne Armstrong of Doe Hill, Va.; aunt, Patricia Morgan and husband, Charlie Henry of Apopka, Fla.; uncles, Andy and Sean Morgan-Duffy of New Haven, Conn.; Eric and Scottie Armstrong, both of Doe Hill, Va.; and a special cousin, Autumn Henry of Apopka, Fla. He was predeceased by an uncle, Paul Michael Morgan. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at Highland Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Paolo Esposito, Pastor Tim Harley and Pastor Elmer Malcolm officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Aareon and Vincent Murray, Eric and Scottie Armstrong, Kyle Obaugh, Michael Moats and Jared Mallow. Due to the size of the church, the family encourages you to meet with them from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
